Sello: Sony Music Latin
Bomba Estereo came burning out of Bogotá with a sound that mixed hip-hop, electronic music and Afro-Colombian rhythms into what amounted to a musical Molotov cocktail. But on Amanecer, Bomba's first major-label album, producer Ricky Reed has put some water on that fire. Fierce frontwoman Liliana Saumet is now reduced to moaning "ay papi" on the track "Caderas." Still, it's Saumet's unmistakable voice that boosts pop numbers like "Somos Dos," as the album veers from radio-friendly EDM to vallenato.
