Acerca de Jimmy Archey
Archey and his trusty trombone were there at the birth of jazz from a regional to an American musical form. He played on King Oliver's groundbreaking, late 1920s sides before joining Louis Armstrong in the '30s. From there, he dove into the Swing bands of Benny Carter, Cab Calloway and Ella Fitzgerald. He spent much of the '50s and '60s in San Francisco, wowing them on the big, retro-Dixieland club scene.
