The Good, The Bad, The Sexy

Urban adult contemporary's focus on relationships and bedroom dramas make it formulaic by nature. It's Joe's distinctive vocals, and the way he communicates rapture and loss, that makes him one of the genre's most dependable stars. However, some of the songs on The Good, the Bad, the Sexy stretch his credibility, from "Pull My Hair" to the weird-sex vibes of "Drink Up." He's much better singing about monogamy on "Almost There," and how "Tonight I'm gonna lay you on the bed/ And we ain't even 'bout to have sex" on "Slow Kisses." These are sentiments his grown-and-sexy audience can relate to.
